As InterpressNews was told by the Emergency Management Service, 26 fire vehicles have been fighting against the fire.

The Emergency Management Service cannot yet specify the exact area covered by fire, but according to reports, the whole building was under fire.

No one has been injured as a result of the accident. It is unknown what caused the fire yet. The fire broke at about 3AM.

Tbilisi Mayor Davit Narmania has arrived at the trade center.

At the moment the fire has almost been localized, but rescuers continue to work.

The surrounding area is cordoned off; traffic is restricted on Tsereteli Avenue, near the Dinamo Stadium.

Reports say the whole building of the trade center has been burnt. Tens of traders have suffered loss.

Didube district governor presumes that the loss caused by the fire broken out in the trade center Children’s World will be large-scale.

As Irma Zavradashvili said, the district administration alone will likely not be able to fully compensate for the loss.

“It is a large-scale problem, as the fire covered a large area“, she said.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation into the case under an article pertaining to destruction of another's property, causing substantial damage. No further details have been provided.
